BCCI to announce the place where should be the 15th season of IPL will be organized by the end of February. South Africa has given the proposal of hosting the IPL 2022 to BCCI.
IPL 2022 is supposed to start on 27th March.
South African board has given good offers to BCCI like less rent of hotels and minimum traveling charge etc.
Due to the omicron variant of covid 19 BCCI has been thinking to organize the 15th season of IPL in another country in which UAE, Sri Lanka South Africa were on the top of the list.
There is maximum possibility of South Africa to host IPL 2022 as South Africa has successfully conducted the series between India and South Africa held recently. They had provided a very strong bio bubble to the team and no causalities happened.
In the 15th season of Ipl, two more franchises are added named Ahmedabad and Lucknow, due to which the no of matches will be increased from 60 matches to 74 matches. It is still not confirmed where the Ipl 2022 is going to be organized.
In the last season of Ipl half-season was done in India and it was interrupted due to covid 19 then the remaining matches of the 14th season were scheduled in UAE and Chennai Super Kings to become the winner of the IPL 2021. In the last season, the title sponsor of the IPL was VIVO but BCCI has changed the title sponsor for this season now TATA will be the title sponsor of IPL.
The mega auction of Ipl 2022 is to be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru about thousand of players register their names for the mega auction. The mega auction of Ipl was to take place in January but it was postponed in February due to some issues with the Ahmedabad franchise.
