The IPL 2022 is supposed to start on the 27th of March. The Mega auction for the 15th season in IPL is to be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. After the seven years ban ended the Kerala-born pacer S Sreesanth made headlines when he gave his name for the upcoming mega auction of IPL 2022 for the base price of Rs 50 lakh. Reports say that Sreesanth may play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 who is the current winner of IPL in 2021.
Chennai Super Kings has retained Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad for the 15th season of IPL
. In the 2011 world cup, the skipper M S Dhoni has famously picked S Sreesanth in the squad so it may be possible that he would suggest his name for the Ipl 2022.
S Sreesanth may find it difficult to play for CSK due to the presence of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur. With the Ipl likely to take place in India this season, S Sreesanth may benefit from the slow tracks at the Chepauk.
It could be a perfect setup for the career of S Sreesanth on a pitch where even the fast bowlers have to rely on their variations and match awareness. Around 1214 players have registered for the Mega Auction. This list includes 270 capped and 903 uncapped, and 41 associate nation players. a total of 318 overseas players have also registered in the Mega Auction of this season.
From the overseas player's list Australia, South Africa, and West Indies have the most no of players on the auction list. Ben Stokes, Chris Gayle, Jofra Archer, Mitchell Starc, Chris Woakes, and Sam Curran have decided to be out of the IPL 2022 due to their personal issues.
It is still not clear where the IPL 2022 will be organized.
